I am pleased to say that Tela will be sponsoring our February meetup. Tela is a commercially focused, creative digital agency. Founded in 1997, they help companies discover new ways digital technology can help them interact with their target audience and produce measurable results.
We have two great speakers who are both owners of their own agencies Pete Campbell and Nichola Stott.
Pete Campbell will kick off the evening with his presentation, “Site Speed Tactics in a Mobile-First World”
Consumers expect web pages to load in 2 seconds or less, but the average ecommerce site actually loads in 10 seconds – and our own study show’s it’s even worse on mobile. You’ll see unique, first-party data from our in-depth study on how the UK’s 700 biggest online retailers rank in terms of mobile site speed.
Pete will also look at the impact of Google’s new AMP technology which has delivered 71% faster loading pages for our clients. In addition, we’ll look at solutions for common implementation mistakes we’ve seen in the past year and highlight the newest AMP features.
Pete Campbell is the Managing Director of the award-winning Kaizen. He has worked with global brands including River Island, Symantec & 888.com on innovative SEO & Content Marketing campaigns. He built his first website at 11, pretends to not be totally addicted to video games and is regular speaker at digital marketing conferences including SMX, BrightonSEO & SEMDays. Kaizen recently won an DADI award for best content marketing campaign and Pete previously won a Travolution award for his Technical SEO strategies for travel brands.
Nichola Stott will speak about “Hreflang in Practise”
Four years and over 3000 sitemaps later, at theMediaFlow we’ve learnt a lot about making hreflang work for every funky implementation; from three or four English language sites, to global ecommerce giants with 40+ language and URL variations. In this session we’ll introduce the main implementation methods to consider, then go into detail about pros and cons of each; common errors, pitfalls, and ways to implement to make your maintenance time and process a breeze.
Currently MD and founder of theMediaFlow, Nichola is responsible for their business growth and strategy; managing their people and approach to SEO and content marketing services as well as company marketing strategy. theMediaFlow’s clients include national and global brands in highly competitive spaces, from publishing to sports betting, jewellery, fashion, lifestyle, automotive and more.
Over 15 years experience in online communications, working for global organisations such as PR Newswire and Yahoo! More than ten years experience in search, five of which at Yahoo! as head of UK search partnerships.
The first 20 people to RSVP on meetup have free entry.
